Android, and older iPhones
Sober Tracker is on Google Play as well as the App Store, and runs on iOS 17.6 or later. SoberDeck is iPhone-only and needs iOS 18.0.
Honest comparison · Checked 30 September 2026
Pick Sober Tracker if you want a private streak counter on Android as well as iPhone, in one of 22 languages, with the option to pay once. Pick SoberDeck if your goal might be drinking less rather than stopping: its free moderation mode tracks a weekly cap of drinks or drinking days, which Sober Tracker's own guide says it is not built for. Both work with no account, and both charge $29.99 a year for Premium.
The short version
Sober Tracker and SoberDeck are both private sobriety trackers that need no account and keep your log off any company server. Sober Tracker is the wider app: it runs on iPhone and Android, names 22 languages in its App Store description, has 31 App Store ratings averaging 4.8, and sells a one-time lifetime purchase. SoberDeck is iPhone-only and English-only, but it supports cutting back as a real goal with a weekly cap, and its optional sync runs through your own iCloud at no charge. Both list Premium at $29.99 a year on the US App Store, so the choice comes down to platform and goal, not price.
01 — Where Sober Tracker is better
Read from Sober Tracker's App Store listing and its own site on 30 September 2026. If one of these is the thing you need, it is the better app for you.
Sober Tracker is on Google Play as well as the App Store, and runs on iOS 17.6 or later. SoberDeck is iPhone-only and needs iOS 18.0.
Its App Store description names 22, from Spanish and Hindi to Japanese and Czech. SoberDeck is in English only.
4.8 from 31 ratings on the US App Store, first released in January 2025 and at version 4.4.2. SoberDeck has no ratings yet and is at version 1.0.2.
Its listing says Premium comes weekly, monthly, yearly or as a one-time lifetime purchase. SoberDeck sells monthly and yearly only. If you refuse subscriptions, that settles it.
A recovery garden that grows through 9 stages over a year, 30+ achievements including a badge for starting again after a setback, and a money tracker with investment projections.
Slips. Since version 4.0.0 Sober Tracker lets you log a lapse without erasing your streak. SoberDeck keeps your history through a slip too, so this is no longer a difference.
02 — Where SoberDeck is different
Sober Tracker's own comparison guide, updated 29 September 2026, says: “It is built around alcohol-free days rather than a drink-by-drink diary, so if your goal is to drink less against a weekly limit, Sunnyside or Try Dry fits better.” That is an honest line, and it is the gap SoberDeck fills. Set a cap of drinks or drinking days per week, log how many drinks a day took, and each day shows as sober, within goal or over. It is free, and you can switch to full sobriety later without losing a day of history. How moderation mode works.
The same guide says that because Sober Tracker syncs nothing to a server, “moving to a new phone depends on exporting your data first.” SoberDeck has optional sync through your own iCloud private database, included free and with no account. Your history follows you to a new iPhone, and it lives in your iCloud, not on our server.
Free in SoberDeck: daily logging, urge logging, streaks, week and month insights, milestones, the journal, My Why, reminders, widgets, money saved, iCloud sync, and the relapse and support flows. Premium adds year-view trends, deeper stats, more habits and CSV/PDF export. Craving and relapse flows are never behind the paywall.
With Premium, SoberDeck tracks other habits, including nicotine, cannabis, sugar, gambling, social media and caffeine, or one you name, each with its own labels, goals and milestones. Sober Tracker says it “works great for tracking any sobriety journey or habit change” but publishes no list.
Everything in the free list is free to check for yourself. SoberDeck costs nothing to download and needs no account.

04 — Honest fit
You're on Android, or share a plan with someone who is. You want the app in Spanish, Hindi, Japanese or another of its 22 languages. You're still on iOS 17. You want to pay once and never see a renewal. Or you're tracking straight abstinence and a growing garden and a wall of badges is what keeps you going.
Your goal is drinking less, or you haven't decided yet, and you want a weekly cap rather than a streak you can only break. You want the journal, money saved and relapse flow without a paywall on a bad day. You want your log to follow you to a new iPhone without an account with anyone, including us.
Cutting down is not safe for everyone. With alcohol dependence, stopping or reducing can carry real withdrawal risks, so talk to a clinician before you pick a goal.
